One month and… It’s the same old nothing over again.

In Uncategorized on November 5, 2009 by E

Happy late Halloween and I hope everyone got lots of yummy candy because I didn’t; I was in my Chinese class watching the Lizzie McGuire Movie (I have no idea as to why the teacher chose to choose THAT particular film to ‘study’ and write essays on…) and well, writing Chinese. So I do not have much to say on my part.

I have been lazy. I have been a little busy. I have been playing games. I have been distracted by MSN. I have been to Parents’ Evening, which was a thoroughly stranger experience than last year because of reasons that would take too long to go into, but include nothing too interesting whatsoever.

In the meantime, I discovered two amazing bands: Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica. Both are Finnish power metal bands, and I’ve lately discovered that this may be my favourite genre yet! Not ditching Green Day yet though. Or any of the other stuff I’ve listened to for quite a while. But especially Green Day :)

Anyway, if anyone is bored and looking for melodic songs with metallic instrumentals, then here are some recommendations:
- Destiny by Stratovarius; a ten-minute long epic song that is fast, that is slow, that includes lovely guitars & keyboards.
- Forever by Stratovarius; a slow song with not-too-special lyrics, and really, this song is not-too-special; I couldn’t specify anything revolutionary about it. But each time I listen, it puts me in a strange mood. A sad one; a strange one; an interesting one.
- FullMoon by Sonata Arctica; arguably their most popular song and one that is a pleasure to listen to, if not for the slightly asdfjkl lyrics.

So how has everyone’s life been?

  1. You can write essays about the Lizzie McGuire movie? Really? I mean, it’s not exactly thoughtful. There really isn’t anything to write about :|
Ah, I know, you usually suck on MSN no offense or anything (: I think it’s just that the time difference, we talk at the wrong times haha. Oh well. Back to blogging so it doesn’t make a difference either way :D
Finnish power metal? LMAO how random, seriously.
It WAS freaky! I left early and went to the good-people party, though, so it was all good :D

  2. OH MY The Lizzie McGuire Movie. I remember loving it when I was like, 9. So horribly corny.

Finnish power metal, hey? That sounds interesting. I do hope that genre is similar to Lordi, those people who won Eurovision a few years back (google them. Seriously. Abba won Eurovision once. And now, Lordi have too, pmsl.)

  3. I’m adding you to my blogroll :)

Firstly… you had to write essays on Lizzie McGuire….. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I’D RATHER EAT WORMS!!!!!!!

    I’ll check out those bands.

Anyway, I hope you’re ok and even if you don’t have much to report on, no news is good news, right? :) xx

  4. You’re like the second or third person I’ve seen/heard lately recommending either Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica… I think I’m going to have to check them out!

  5. Aw thank you, I’m glad you like it. :D

That’s the perfect way to sum him up to be honest. He really has nothing better to do than pick on us all the time. Lmao, I shall write about it if it goes to court don’t you worry!

    It certainly does.

I’m going to change the password every day to ensure people don’t spread it around. Besides, I can monitor download activity and I know the IP addresses of whom I’ve given the password to so I’ll know if anyone else got it somehow.

Halloween is overrated. Your Halloween was sure better than mine anyway, haha!

I used to hate parents evening, my mum embarrasses me SO much! Oh don’t worry, I’m the laziest person ever, seriously. I have like 12 comments to return and I seriously can’t be bothered. It’s OK to be lazy now and again. :)

I’ve never heard of those bands before, I might check them out though, they seem interesting. :)

  6. I never celebrate Halloween just ’cause…well, we don’t do it over here except in those neighbourhoods with a ton of Caucasian people pmsl. Besides, I never found the idea of dressing up like someone(thing) else very appealing, much less the notion of running around ringing on people’s doorbells asking for candy. If people did that to me, I’d be annoyed out of my mind, actually.

    I did a semi-rant :)

And I like power metal! Never listened to those bands before, but I’ll give them a go! I like metal in general – any kind of it – but I generally learn more towards melodic death metal I should say. Or those kinds of metal you can never classify since it branches out into so many different sub-genres. In the end, I listen to unclassifiable stuff because I love the mixes :)

I fully intend on having an MSN conversation with you once my exams officially end (Friday!). I’m digging myself a grave right now because I’m going to be catching up with every other online pal then too.
    xx

    PS: I made my LJ semi-public :)

  7. Oh I forgot to make a comment about the Lizzie McGuire Movie PMSL. I actually did watch it once. It’s terrible. LOL, I feel entirely unnecessary.

  8. LOL you almost called me Alisanne. Oh, I had a good chuckle from that.

I did not get candy, either, sad to say. Well, we have so many left overs, I often steal from the front closet. Mmm mars bars~ om nom nom

The Lizzie McGuire move?! really? haha. That’s amusing. I used to love the show. You have to write an essay on it? Pfft.

Hmm though the genre isn’t one I usually go for, I do like the second song you listed. It’s is pretty… sad sounding. But it’s kinda calming, I suppose. (:
